As Catholics, we have a long tradition of having Masses celebrated for those we wish to offer up in prayer. The Mass is the ultimate form of prayer, and each Mass is celebrated for an intention. Please consider having Masses celebrated for family and friends on special occasions and anniversaries, as well as those who are in need of prayers. Masses are also encouraged in memory of those loved ones who have died, especially on the anniversaries of their deaths. Contact Fr. Cory for more information!

Pro-Life Quote from National Right to Life To be silent when unborn babies are being mercilessly put to death is not an option. Holocaust survivor Elie Weisel sums it up well: I swore never to be silent whenever and wherever human beings endure suffering and humiliation. Neutrality helps the oppressor, never the victim. Silence encourages the tormentor, never the tormented.

Please consider donating to the Seminarian Education Endowment Fund The Catholic Extension Society is providing a matching grant of up to $50,000 until December 31, 2012 to help fund the education of future priests within our diocese. All donations of any size are welcome, in addition to your prayers for vocations. The May edition of The Harvest had a more in-depth article and also included envelopes to mail your donation to the Chancery. Gifts of $1,000 or more will not only be matched, but can qualify for the Montana Endowment Tax Credit of 40%. If you would like more information, please contact Judy Held at 800-332-9998.

From the Office of Stewardship and Development Stewardship Thought: The passages from the prophet Ezekiel and St. Marks Gospel describe Ezekiel and Jesus as prophets rejected by their own people. The Church today has many prophetic voices embracing teachings on the sanctity of life, marriage, and other moral issues. Jesus Himself inspires the Churchs teachings; St. Paul reminds us that He gives strength to our human weaknesses. As Christs faithful disciples, we should strive to listen to these prophets today and follow the Churchs moral teachings in an effort to counteract modern day societys belief in moral relativism. Charitable Planning Tip: Please consider naming our parish or our dioceses as a beneficiary of your retirement plan (pension, IRA, etc.). The remainder left in your retirement plan once you are gone is often very highly-taxed for your children or other beneficiaries you name, but is able to benefit our parish or our entire diocese tax-free, at its full value. It is very simple to make a beneficiary designation and a generous, loving method of giving back to the Lord a portion of what He has blessed you with during your lifetime. For assistance, contact Father or Judy Held, Director of Stewardship and Development for the diocese, at 800-332-9998 or at stewardship@dioceseofgfb.org. Thank you!

CD of the Month Club Plan Your Family Naturally!!! Interested in natural fertility awareness and regulation? Natural family planning is safe, scientific, healthy, highly effective, and easy to learn. Attend this free introduction at St. Vincent Mansfield Health Education Center on Wednesday, July 11, 79pm. Daphne Sutton teaches the Creighton Method of Fertility Awareness. The information is appropriate for all ages, works well for nursing mothers, and is helpful to those hoping to conceive as well as those planning to postpone pregnancy. This standardized method can help evaluate: infertility, abnormal bleeding, repetitive miscarriage, ovarian cysts, PMS, stress, and hormonal imbalances. Couples are encouraged to attend classes together. For more information or to register, please call Daphne Sutton @ 406794-1582. If we are to be followers of Jesus Christ, we need to be continually learning about the faith and growing spiritually. Catechesis, the process of Faith education, doesnt stop at Confirmation or High School graduation, but is a life-long process. To aid in this process, the parish is making available the Lighthouse Catholic Media CD of the Month Club. Every month, a new talk or audiobook excerpt is released. Not only is the current months CD available - Trust in the Lord by Fr. Thomas Richter - but a number of previous months CDs can be picked up as well. Each CD averages about 1 hour long, and is filled with great Catholic teaching, uplifting stories, and excellent speakers. Theyre great in the car, working around home, or anywhere you have a CD player! Theyre also excellent resources whenever someone has a question about a teaching of the Catholic Faith. If you or someone you know wants to learn more about the Catholic Faith, or if questions come up, pick one up today!
