The Rev. David Almleaf , Pastor ~ November 2018
aan REESE eee
Dear Members and Friends,
November is an interesting month for Christians.
‘We begin by observing All Saints and remembering those who have gone before us in the
faith,
‘The next two Sundays recall Jesus’ teachings about the last days.
Finally on the last Sunday we celebrate Chris the King and consider Christ’s reign over sin and
death from His cross.
Most in our nation observe Thanksgiving on the fourth Thursday and usually think of it as the
day we usher in the holiday season. This is made clear by the appearance of Santa Claus at the
conclusion of the Macy’s parade.
In its purity, ‘Thanksgiving is a day to give thanks to God for blessings received in the past year.
Doing this will enrich our experience of Thanksgiving day as well as the Christmas season.
Give thanks to God for life, for family, for our homes and especially for the salvation we have
through Jesus Christ.
What
Happy Thanksgiving,
