ICT Scholarship Program Final year Project for Electrical Engineering GAT(Graduate Assessment Test)
ICT R & D
Pakistan has witnessed a phenomenal growth in its telecom industry. The government of Pakistan has mandated that a certain percentage of gross revenue generated by all telecom service providers be allocated to development and research of information and communication technologies with the vision to transform Pakistans economy into a knowledge based economy by promoting efficient, sustainable and effective ICT initiatives through synergic development of industrial and academic resources. To achieve this vision National ICT R&D Fund has been created.
funded 4 year undergraduate degree scholarships in ICT related disciplines in the leading ICT universities of Pakistan.

Passive Radiometry
Passive millimeter wave (PMMW) imaging is method of capturing naturally radiating objects specially the objects that radiate millimeter waves. An image is formed through these captured waves. This technique of forming images was useful for a long, but now the new sensor technology specifically in millimeter wave range is very significant because it can generate PMMW imaging as video. It is a very interesting fact that PMMW imaging can form images in certain conditions in which regular optical and other types of imaging face problems. For example the PMMW imaging can be availed to capture images by day or night, in low light or poor visibility conditions, in drastic weather such as haze, smog, fog, clouds or sand storms and even
Applications
PMMW can be beneficial for civilian operations e.g.
It can be helpful in the landing of air crafts in
foggy conditions Operating air ports in foggy conditions, harbor and sea surveillance It can be used for traffic monitoring in foggy conditions Screening weapons and other objectionable items in airports and in other security systems
Similarly PMMW imaging has a wide number of military applications such as Precision targeting Navigating Assisting in landing of military aircrafts Refueling of aircrafts in clouds in search and rescue missions Metal detection navigation of ships and submarines Surveillance in fog
Imaging principle
For the generation of radiometric temperature image of a scene, a few following factor are important
Radiation Emissions from Constituents Reflection of Down-welling Sky Radiation Up-welling Atmospheric Emissions Between
Observer & the Scene Propagation of EM Energy from the Scene to the Observer
PMMW Imaging
All imaging based systems are based on the
principal of capturing the radiations of specific frequency spectrums and recording them in a form of images. The cameras capture visible light frequency spectrum; IR imaging devices capture IR frequency range; similarly, PMMW imaging antenna based systems, capture millimeter waves frequencies. In above section all PMMW imaging technologies discussed.
GAT General
NTS (National Testing Service) is an officially body which conducts various aptitude test in Pakistan. NTS is an internationally recognized testing and assessment organization facilitating in producing educated and market competitive human resource. Among various tests GAT General Test is one of them. In this lecture we are letting people know about the GAT General Test and providing them guide to prepare for their GAT General Test.

Comprehension Reading
Reading Comprehension part is used to test your
understanding of the contents and ideas in a passage and answer question on the basis of what is stated or implied in the passage. You must read the passage carefully first so that you can identify the main idea of the passage , author's tone and attitude as well as the organization of the passage. One passage having 3,4 questions.
Basic Questions
The questions are about information that is stated
or implied in the passage and about some of the specific words in the passages. Because many English words have more than one meaning, it is important to remember that these questions concern the meaning of a word or phrase within the context of the passage. Read the question first and then find answer from given passage

Analogies
Analogies mainly depend on Vocabulary.

Age problems Work hours problems Clock angles and Sector area Algebraic expressions Speed distance problems Fractions & Percentages Range, mean, Mod Simple Geometry problems Basic Arithmetic Probability Ratios Profit, Discount problems Equation solving for Variables
Analytical Reasoning
The term "analytic reasoning" refers to
recognizing patterns and connections in a variety of information. Each analytical reasoning question is a logical puzzle, based on a given set of conditions Analytical reasoning questions are presented in groups of four or five questions. Each group is based on a short passage followed by a set of conditions. Analytical Reasoning test measures your ability to analyze and to draw result from a complex situation by applying your logic.

Example.
7 persons live in a street, having houses in line.
Consider the following: 1. A lives in the corners house 2. 2. C is between E and G 3. 3. There is 1 house between D and F 4. 4. F is neighbor of G 5. 5. There are two houses between A and G 7 Persons A,B,C,D,E,F,G
7 persons live in a street We can make X X X X X X 1.A lives in the corners house So, there are two possibilities: A X X X X X X X X X X X 2. C is between E and G Here, also two possibilities: E C G G C E 3. There is 1 house between D and F Two possibilities: D X F F X D
X A
4. F is neighbor of G 2 possibilities F G or G F There are two houses between A and G A X X G G X X A Two houses between A and G: A X X G C is between E and G: A E C G F is neighbor of G: A E C G F 1 house between D and F A E C G F X D And finally: A E C G F B D
Logical Reasoning
GAT logical reasoning is a special kind of reading
