that the network time is consistent with the standard time.
Accidents occurred on the network. A customer forgot that the NTP Server at the
medium level acts as the M2000 server and randomly changed the time of the
M2000 server, thus causing the disorder of the NE time.

Make sure that the Solaris support the locals daylight
Check the Solariss rule, if its consistent with locals.
If not matched, please check if already have related path on SUNs
web.
If have patch, please send it to HQ and verify it first, then apply it
onsite.
If no patch, please contact HQ for help.
Generally, Solaris s Daylight rule doesnt match with the locals if
local government changed it. For suck issue, SUN company will

R3 license cant be using for R5/R6, also in reverse.
The license can be using for each other between R5 and R6but if you want to
use the new function of R6, you have to use the license of R6.

Time Zone of the Solaris Operating System
The time zone is of two formats:
GMT format: TZ=GMT-8
Time zone code format: TZ=PRC
The Greenwich Mean Time (GMT) format is contrary to the actual format, that is, GMT+8
(actual)=GMT-8 (Solaris)
The GMT format supports the DST. The time zone code format, however, does not support
the DST.
The M2000V2R2C02B027SP06 and later versions support the DST feature.

Character set of the Sybase
iso_1: Refers to the English character set, which matches the M2000 in English version.
Cp936: Refers to the Chinese character set, which matches the M2000 in Chinese version.
You cannot change the character set once it is specified. Otherwise, the Sybase may break
down.
Veritas Volume Manager and License (Required when Installing the HA System)
Before delivery, the Veritas Volume Manager and its license have been installed.
The license of the Veritas Volume Manager is delivered with the device. The license is a
string of digital codes printed on a piece of A4 paper.
The license may not be installed because of delivery emergency. Therefore, you need to
check the license on site.

Troubleshooting
You need to do the operation in the HA system
only.
In the HA system, Sun cluster will control the
switching of the dual-server, Sybase and
M2000 software are both working on the host
node as resource, when the host node is
fault, the Sun cluster will switch Sybase and
M2000 to standby node.
Therefore, you have to register the Sybase and
M2000 to Sun cluster as a resource, so that
Sun cluster can manage Sybase and M2000,
to realize the HA functions.

1. Verify that the Sybase is normally started.
2. Start the M2000 service.
3. Check whether all the M2000 services are
running
4. Restart the M2000 services.
5. Check the status of the M2000 services.
6. Verify the switching of HA system is ok.
