Passport Applying Procedure

under Normal Category

Step (creating account)
Go to below site and register.
http://passportindia.gov.in/AppOnlineProject/user/userLogin
Then sign in and go to APPLICANT HOME page.
There you can see Apply for Fresh passport link, click on it.
There you will see 2 options
1) You can either fill it online or
2) you can download soft copy fill it and then again upload it.
I prefer the 1
st
one because that site is not user friendly, you may find
it difficult to upload.
You may not be able access this site from your room, so better to go
to C.C.
Step :2(online form filling)
Before filling the form make sure that you have all the details with
you like place of birth, aadhar number, addresses etc.
While filling the form please be careful and enter the details(like
address or date of birth) correctly, because if you enter anything
wrong that may result in rejecting your application.
Make sure that you have birth certificate with you, thats a very
important thing.
And while giving your parents details be careful because the spellings
should be same everywhere(we shall discuss it later).
The form consists of 4-5 pages, you dont need to fill it once you can
save it and then can start filling from there.
After filling all details check everything once and then submit it.
Step: 3(applying for bonafide)
Go to this site

And download form no. Gen/01. take its printout fill it(better to fill in
soft copy itself and then take its prinout) and drop it in student affairs
dropbox along with ID card Xerox and copy of birth certificate and
one copy of recent passport size photograph with clear white
background, and print out of online filled form(go to view saved and
submitted forms link and there you have to select the form and then
you just have to click on print submitted form).
It may take 2 or more days to get the bonafide back.
Step:4 (paying amount)
Before going to this step make sure that you have all the certificates
with you(10
th
certi and birth certi)
Click on scheduled appointment link(which will appear in view saved
and submitted forms). Most probably it wont open, I will display
no. of user exceeded today. So you have to open it at exactly 11am
and then pay the amount using your debit card(best option). You can
also ask your parents to do this step for you by giving them your
details.
After payment it will automatically schedule an appointment for you.
You have to download that appointment letter.
Documents required
Birth certi- date of birth proof
Bonafide from college
10

certi your name and parents name proof.
ID card
If your mothers name is not there in the 10
th
certi then you have to
provide any other document with your mother name included.
Updated and with correct current address bank pass book.
If there is difference in your name or your parents names in different
documents then you have to prepare a affidavit stating both names
are equal.(you can get affidavit from court or from any notary officer)
Certis verification
On the appointment day, you have to go to passport office for certis
verification(in G.S road after dona planet)
You have to carry
1) Original certis(birth certi, 10
th
certi, ID card, bank pass book,
affidavit(if required), your mothers name proof(if required)).
*dont carry aadhar card or ration card as any proof
2) Xerox copies of all original certis and in bank pass book you have
take Xerox of first page and last one year transactions.
Be there on time and show your appointment letter and then you will
be given one number and you have to cross 3 sections(A,B,C)
Section A:
Here you have to show all original documents when your turn comes
you have to submit Xerox copies.
Check spellings while he will be filling online form.
Section B:
All originals will be checked once again and be careful here because any
problem created here you will have to go to section A again.

Section C:
Nothing much to do here



After whole process you will be given 1 acknowledgement.
After 1 month or so you will get a message and few days after go to
amingoan police station for verification and then it may take 45 days
to get your pass port.
