We never see much of the character but from what we
do see, we can note that from the way in which he lurks
connotes the idea of danger lurking round the corner.
Again aged mid twenties
Though he is not a lead character through the opening
physically, he is a lead character psychologically, and as
the story would develop, so would the characters
appearance.

So Who would our media product

really be suitable for?
We took influences from the films Alice Creed, Se7en,
Essex boys and some aspects of film noir (The third man
or Double indemnity)
To understand who our target audience would be, we
used the website IMDB to study the statistical ratings
given by various age groups and both genders.
Using this allowed us to see what type of film different
age groups liked and how we could incorporate aspects
of this into our own thriller.

Essex Boys
It is evident by looking at the ratings from the film Essex
Boys that Males and Females aged 18-29 gave the
highest score when voting, with males standing at 428
votes and females at 68.

Se7en
Voter ratings on IMDB from the film the Se7en implies
that the viewers whom gave the highest ratings where
18-29 year olds.
Males had a vote of 313681 whilst females had a vote
of 68716.

The statistical outcome

After carefully studying the statistics, it was apparent
that our target audience had to be for 18-29 year olds,
they where the primary voters giving the highest
ratings. Though, we did note that the highest number of
voters where male, so to contradict this, we felt it
should be equally as important that females have a high
vote in a thriller film. We felt that because both Se7en
and Essex boys use leading male characters, that we
could appeal to a wider female audience.

Our Audience profile

Our audience would be aged roughly between 18-29 years, so meaning
that they would be potentially studying at university or commencing a
job following a university degree. Generally, they would be female,
though can be male too. The type of person to view our thriller would
love to use modern technology such as social media. This allows them
to find out about the different films available to them. They also find
out about different films through the magazines they read. Our person
would enjoy streaming films using home entertainment, this could be
something such as Netflix or Love Film. They enjoy independent films
rather than mainstream films as they feel overall more culturally
aware. They love thriller films which are full of psychological twists
rather than a horror twist, so for instance Essex boys or Se7en. They
enjoy music and going to gigs due to a life they live which involves a
busy social life. Because of their busy social life, they can easily find
out about the latest films to hit places such as cinema City.
