MODELING THE

Creating the structure in graphical interface


see the slides shown how to enter into staad
pro new file .

Click on new projects in project task


Click on /tick the plane box in the new dialog box
Write the file name and location of file you want to save it
Select the length units and force units
Then click on next button
It will open a dialog box
In that click on add beam and finish

Close the snap node dialogue box and define remaining joint co
-ordinates in the node area as follows

To create support and assign

Click on general command


In that supports command
It will open dialogue box support whole structure
In that click on create button
It will open another dialog box create support
Click on fixed
Then add
Select the node by node cursor
Then assign to selected node

To define loading

Go to commands tool bar menu


Click on command
Select loading
Select primary loading
Then enter it will open this dialog box
Select loading type
Wright title for load case
Then add

The newly created load case will now appear under the Load Cases
Details option. As shown below

To create the Member load, first highlight DEAD You will notice that
the Add New Load Items dialog box shows more options now

In the Add New Load Items dialog box, select the Uniform Force
option under the Member Load item.
Specify GY as the Direction, enter -2.5 as the Force and click on
the Add button.

As you can make different types of loads depending on the condition


Examples of some loads are
UDL: Uniformly distributed loads
UVL: Uniformly varying loads
Concentrated loads etc
