SUSTAINABILITY
End of life Programs:

deal with products

that have reached the end of their useful lives.

The 3 Rs: Reduce, Reuse, and

Recycle.
1. REDUCE: Tesla uses thousands of lithiumion 18650 commodity cells.
- It designed to be cheaper to manufacture and
to be lighter than the standard cells.
- The cost and weight savings were made by
removing some safety features.

Model S P85D version has three control setup:

normally, sport and super-fast, capable of
accelerating from 0 to 60 miles in just 3.2
seconds.
- This is an amazing result, because this rate is
equivalent to supercars like Ferrari, Porsche and
Mercedes. This proved Tesla's technological
capabilities.

2. REUSE:
- Tesla Motors, Inc. (Fremont, CA) has replaced
cardboard boxes with reusable racks to transport
windshields for the Model S sedan.

3. RECYCLE:
- Tesla Motors is committed to instituting a

closed loop battery recycling system. A closed

loop of material use involves manufacturing of
battery cells, assembly into battery packs, then
vehicles, and finally, recycling into raw
materials for future use.
