Development and
Educational
Traineeships
(Short And
Long term)

Development Traineeships
•These positions will involve you working for an NGO. There
are a huge variety of NGOs in the system so there is
something for everyone. These positions are not paid,
however, accommodation is usually provided. For
development placements, prior experience will be helpful, but
is not necessary.
•DT Internships are short term internships with a focus on cultural
exchange, social responsibility, social entrepreneurship, ecology, HIV
aids, child welfare etc.
•These internships are either in the form of a Project undertaken by
AIESEC in collaboration with other development bodies or in
independent NGOs working on a particular issue.
DT internships are usually for a period of 6-10 weeks.
Most of the internships are open to undergraduates and graduates.

Educational Traineeships
•Education traineeships-These are teaching
positions, usually for languages. Good English
speakers are in very high demand though there
are opportunities for other languages. TEFL
qualifications are sometimes required but not
always. Accommodation and a subsistence
salary is usually provided. Education have less
stringent requirements
•Traineeships in Educational Institutions and Schools.
•The most common job description is teaching
English.
•These traineeships are usually for 6-12 weeks.

Management Traineeships
These are professional roles with companies ranging
from global titans to small local start-ups. You will be
paid a salary that matches the costs of the local
environment. Management internships have stringent
requirements – a relevant degree and prior
experience is for the most part necessary, and some
companies will only take in finalists.
Management traineeships are comparatively long
term internships that are usually for a period of 2-18
months
Majority of the internships are open to graduates and
post graduates.
Members must have adequate work experience in
Management sector of interest.

Induction and Preparation
• We Have An induction Seminar, which will
be held Induct all
Exchange Participants(EP’s) into AIESEC,
its various activities, and the local
chapter(Lucknow).
• We also have a cultural preparatory
Seminar conducted by various Externals
and our international trainees to prepare
EP’s for their stay in the other country.
Participation in LC Activities
• The Lucknow local chapter runs many
activities through the year on different
issues, conferences, seminars. The
Exchange Participant (EP) has the option
to attend activities of his/her choice
• The EP will also be part of online forums
of AIESEC where various discussions take
place of internationals and AIESEC
Members.
Matching
The member is given access to Insight XP,
the online database and he/she finds himself
or herself an internship. The student will be
assisted by a member in this process.
AIESEC Lucknow will help you provide all
the necessary documents required for the
VISA processes.
AIESEC Lucknow helps the member with
visa formalities.
Realization
The member acts as a Business
Development Manager in the country of the
traineeship and promotes the local chapter.
The hosting Local Committee helps the
trainee with logistical needs and also
introduces him/her to the organization.
( Home stays etc.)
The hosting local committee will conduct
periodic activities that the member is
expected to take part in.
Reintegration
The Member returns and shares his experiences
with the local committee.
He submits a final evaluation of his internship
and a case study.
He evaluates if he has achieved the goals he
had set for himself at the start of the internship.
