Piet Mondrian

A study of trees was a must for this study, so my eye was srawn to these
works, in the study of the formation of trees to abstraction. I found these
to look a lot like pipes, something which could easily build upon my
current understanding of the medium I was going for.

Initially this artist had caught my eye for the second time after seeing the pipe formation he
had done, but further investigation on Google revealed this psychedelic sculptures which
had a lot of interest from me. I liked the idea of adding lot of layers onto an object to make
it look more 3d, but these pictures make me think that perhaps I should focus less on
blending, and more on individually defining each element of foreground and background.

This artist caught my eye for a similar reason Mondrian did, particularly
for his work, South Branch. This is very reflective the sort of object I
would like to see in my city, particularly when you look at the forms it
can take, both organic and artificial.

This artist is interesting for me because of her use of texture in her
art. When I make the nothing spaces, I need some kind of glue or
filler between objects to keep the look consistent, which makes this
pictures very interesting for application. They could be utilised for any
kind of texture, including compacted ground, soft sky and pavement.
