CYLINDER LINER RECLAMATION

India.
Shop processes old liners and make
them reusable through various
mechanical and chemical process.
Output - current year target 5300
liners
Nearly 20 liners a day are produced.

LINER Contd.
Due to continuous motion of piston
over liner, liner gets degraded over
time.
This liner needs to be replaced after
certain time.
Either new liners are purchased or old
liners are machined back to life.
In Golden rock workshop, old liners
from all over India are machined.

PRELIMINARY SCREENING
Old liners will be first screened to check
whether they are fit for reclamation.
Primary criteria for checking is the
internal diameter of liner is within
tolerance limit.

 Unfortunately, Unique Plant is

heading for closing because of
following reasons:
Chromium fumes are hazardous to
both environment and humans.
Process requires over
3000Amps/liner of DC current, so AC
power is first converted to DC,which
increase power requirement.
