Artifact #1: My Journals

As an avid writer, I have a variety of journals

for different writing purposes. My journals are
really special to me and something I usually
keep to myself. I started keeping journals as

used to log my dayto-day narratives.

The Secret
Garden is where I
write poems based
on dialogue I hear
around me (on the
bus, around
campus, etc.)
The leather journal
is a travelogue.

Artifact #2: Antique

A few years ago, I
Polaroids
went to an antique

shop in Seattle and

opened an old dresser
to find hundreds of
old polaroid photos. I
picked some of my
favorites (they were
$1 each, and I only
had a $20 on me!)
and have been
collecting them ever
since.
I draw inspiration

Artifact #3: Shells, Sea

Shell picking is my
glass,
and Tile
favorite thing
to do at

the beach. I chose the

following as artifacts
because its so
exciting to find
beautiful and rare
shells that can be
made into something
else entirely.
I also love finding sea
glass and tile chips in
a variety of colors;
blue is my favorite.

I believe that I
exceeded the
expectations listed by
writing detailed bullet
points about my
artifacts, while also
giving a variety of
detailed photos and
examples (the rubric
only asks for one
photo per artifact). I
included a number of

quotes about art to

allow the viewer to
think about different
points of creative
expression. I also
reviewed and gave
feedback to four
classmates instead of
three, as the rubric
asks for.
