Client would be unwilling to share their most
private feelings with someone because of
their mental state. Thus, by revealing their
secret it can worsen their situation.
A person who trust the counsellor will feel
that their secret are confidential with them.
Thus, they will be more open and honest
about their feelings and problems.
When counsellor must
break confidentiality ?
When the client reveals plans to commit suicide or threaten
to harm another person.

Why?
Counsellor has the responsibility to break the confidentiality and alert the authorities.
Ensure the safety of the clients and others.
