This is an establishing which sets the scene of the future events.
The use of cinematography allows the viewer to witness the
dark lighting and relate that to the eerie atmosphere
foreshadowing the events to come. The low lighting and deep
blue colours connote the darkness surrounding this scene and
illustrates the sadness and depression of the scene.

The high key lighting is hitting the top corner of
the building suggests that it will play a significant
role in the film. Furthermore because it is high key
lighting it would attract the audience to that
significant point and even though there is more in
the frame that corner is what first catches our
eyes.
This is a point of view shot and the fact that the props are blurred out indicate that
someone is watching this character. This is also an example of depth of field and
the director uses this in order to focus on specific characters within the frame by
making sure that the superficial content ,the director does not want the audience
to focus on, hence its blurred out. Additionally this technique can be used in order
to foreground something the director sees as predominant or wants the audience
to see it like that. In this way the audience is able to see a specific character
within the frame. This further allows them to be able to disintegrate the emotional
presence or significant details within the frame. This makes the reader feel quite
uneasy and anxious as it seems as if something bad is about to happen.
This is a low angle shot which is used to make the
character seem superior. Hence this character
seems to be a protagonist or a significant
character in the film. We also assume that she has
a lot of power.
