Desired Features of HVDC control
System
Should not be sensitive to normal frequency and
voltage fluctuations in AC system.
Control should be fast, reliable and easy to implement
Should support continuous operating range from
rectification to inversion.
Control should be such that the system should require
less reactive power.
Under steady state, the thyristors must be
symmetrically fired.
