The target audience for the acoustic magazine would be reformers aged 15+ to 30, mainly girls, from the B/C1 socioeconomic class. Reformers value independent thinking and are less materialistic. The acoustic genre appeals to this group as it is seen as mature and calming. The magazine would also appeal to young adults up to age 35 as the acoustic genre is chilled and can help reduce stress. The magazine satisfies Maslow's hierarchy of needs for love/belonging and esteem by allowing readers to connect with others who share their interests and boosting their confidence through positive feedback from others in the acoustic community.

Evaluation Question 4 a) Refer to the audience research you undertook.
The audience for my acoustic magazine according to Young and
Rubicam would be the reformers. They value their own independent judgement and are the most anti-materialistic of the 7 groups, and are often perceived as intellectual. The age range would be 15+, teens and young adults maybe up to 30. The gender would mainly be girls because it is calmer and "more mature". They tend to be in the B/C1 socio-economic class because the acoustic genre is a mature vibe, which appeals to the higher class. Acoustic has a Niche audience, which is a minority group, select group of people that have a unique interest. For example, collectors of salt and peppershakers that are shaped like bears. b)What gender and age group would want to read your magazine? Why?
The age group who would read my magazine would be young
adults (15+) to about aged 35. This is because it is a simple chilled genre that would appeal to people maybe under pressure and stressed. c) Refer to some audience theories to define your audience.
By looking at Maslows hierarchy of needs I believe my magazine
fulfils two sections: love and belonging and esteem. Firstly love and belonging because it enables people to connect with each other and be part of the group: the magazine will help people to believe that theres people with similar interests to them. Secondly esteem because it will offer them confidence based on the good opinions of others.
