AN INTRODUCTORY VIDEO
CHAPTER ONE THE MOZART IN US
The text, The Inner Game of Music, was written by Barry Green in order to assist
Musicians in developing their ability to play and understand music by reading
about the techniques used by other musical heroes. One of these characters includes
Mozart, the prodigious child composer. But the question that this book proposed
is was Mozart actually a child prodigy? Or was he driven by his father into the
world of music?

These questions are answered when Green addresses the audience, making them
reflect upon how they developed their techniques. He then makes a commentary on
the power that a similar text, The Inner Game of Skiing had on two followers of
the series, how the texts ideas had a greater impact than the physical training.
These messages comes to the audience as a surprise at first, but then makes them
reconsider the power that thinking has over doing.
CHAPTER TWO THE INNER GAME

This chapter is a textual presentation of how natural skills and talents can be
carried on in order to develop other technical features of their musicality. It
hones in on the different parts of creating music: composition, improvisation
and ensemble/chamber playing. Thus, the chapters symbolic formation is
representational of the power the text has on developing the creative side of
musicians in both group and individual settings.
