AND SOCIALISATION
Culture refers to all those parts of universe that
have been created by mankind. It refers to the
constellation of factors that are learned through
ones interaction with environment during his or
her development and growth. Culture is the way
of life on which the basic premise of human
behaviour is based.
According to Sutherland
Culture includes anything that can be
communicated from one generation to another .
The culture of people is their social heritage a complex whole
which include knowledge , belief , morale , mode of communication.”

The culture of organisation should have values
that it practices .There are eight values which
are required to develop the profile of an
organisational culture :

An organisational culture is established by


the founders and upheld by the
organisational members . There are
various factors within the organisation that
helps in sustaining and maintaining the
dominant culture prevailing.

SOCIALIZATION:

Human infants are born without any


culture. They must be transformed by their
parents ,teacher and others into culture and
socially adept animals. The general process of
acquiring culture is referred to as socialization.

During socialization, one learn the language of
culture one are born into as well as the roles one
has to play in life .e g a girl learn how to be a
daughter, sister, friend ,wife and a mother.
Behavioural scientists regard socialisation as
one of the principal ways by which societies
perpetuate themselves. It is through the process
of socialization , culture and religious values are
transmitted from one generation to the next. It is
the term used for the process by which
individuals learn and perform the behaviour
expected of them by the society.
Socialization plays a very important role in mol
ding employees so as to enable them to fit
perfectly into the role they are offered and to
behave in a predictable manner.
The process of socialization is divided into 3
stages:
