Course Objectives & Learning Outcomes
Upon completion of this course, students should be able
to:
CLO1: Identify the basic concepts and laws of electric
circuit.
CLO2: Solve simple calculation on electrical power
load requirement for AC & DC.
CLO3: Describe types of electrical machines and
carrying out simple calculation.
CLO4: Describe the electrical wiring for building
electrical system.
CLO5: Describe the mechanical and electrical services.

Rules for Assessments
Late attendees ( > 30 min), will not be allowed into the room/hall.
Pencils are NOT permitted to answer assessment questions.
ONLY INK PENs (blue / black) are allowed to be used.
Read all instructions clearly and answer only the required number of questions
(Any extra question(s) answered will not be entertained).
Please write the solution of exam questions in sequence (marks will be
deducted if not in sequence).
Write your answers clearly and concisely. (I cannot award you marks for
something that I cannot read!)
No plagiarism of any manner will be tolerated. There will be a direct ZERO mark
(No appealing) + Warning letter.
Final is based on 50% ruling. If you get less than 50% in final examination,
you will be required to sit for supplementary paper
Less than 20% in internal marks may be barred
NO REPLACAMENT of exam except hospitalization
Absence from Assessments
NO REPLACAMENT of exam except hospitalization
MCs from private clinics/parents will not be accepted. Only MCs from
government hospitals/clinics will be accepted, provided there is a
Government Stamp and signature of doctor
For Final Examination, if you are absent and need a replacement, both you
and the doctor need to fill up forms together with the MC criteria specified
above to be granted a replacement.

Take note of tentative schedule for
assessments.
Every lecture will end 15 20 mins
before for any Q&A
Questions outside of class
(Consultation Hour)
Refer consultation hour given, send me
an email or fix appointment in class
before coming and seeing me during
this time.
Students coming to see me outside
these stipulated time will not be
entertained
Class Policy
Be punctual to class.

Late attendance (>30 minutes) will not be tolerated unless with a valid
reason.
Participate in class discussion. It is not a one-way learning as in school.
Pay attention when the lecturer is talking in front.

No hand phone during class.

Be HONEST and do not sign for your friend(s) attendance.

Will be barred from final exam if the attendance for lecture & tutorial
less than 80% attendance (AUTO BARRING BY IIS).
Attendance in tutorial sessions are COMPULSORY. This will also be
captured by IIS!
MCs to be submitted to lecturer within 5 days from date of absence.
No replacement for assessments unless hospitalization

50% ruling for final exam.


Assignment
Carries 25% of assessment.
There will be regular quizzes, either pop quiz or
planned quiz, compile all quiz answers for submission
of assignments. Quiz marks will be approximately 10%
One Assignment question will be given after mid term
(15%)
