Sara is the doctor in the prison that Michael is being placed at, Fox River Penitentiary.
As apart of his plan to get out of prison he has to visit the infirmary where she works, here
is where he slowly starts falling in love with her and here you also see where he branches
out and gains a soft spot for her.
Some special symbol and code they have is, Michael sends Sara origami birds or even
origami flowers.
He is very soft spoken when it comes to her, compared to how he speaks to the other
inmates. They have a romantic/intellectual language.
He is never disrespectful towards her compared to his rough nature that sometimes comes
out with the inmates.
Later on in the show he starts calling her things like honey or babe.

FAMILY: HIS BROTHER, LINCOLN BURROWS

Michael completely adores his older brother Lincoln. Lincoln is the only family that he
has.
Michael truly loves his brother because he left his successful life behind and got himself
into prison just help his brother escape.
The brothers talk in a loving matter, but like a typical sibling relationship they do have
their arguments but for the most part Michael would never so anything to hurt or
disrespect his older brother.
Michael actually hugs his brother for obvious reasons. He does not hug other inmates.
Unlike most people in Michaels life he actually trusts his brother.

PENITENTIARY
The inmates have a typical prison guys kind of relationship. As a whole prison there is
many discourse communities and you see that but the show shows detail in a single one.
The inmates are big on nicknames! They make up nick names or they use the inmates last
name, its rare they use their first name. Like Michael is fish or Scofield, Lincoln is linc or
linc the sink, they use nick names for other inmates like T-bag, C-note,tweener, and
DB copper. And again if the inmate does not have a specific nick name they use his last
name.
These guys obviously have a rough nature and they cannot show any sign of weakness.
They say around the prison you put the sheet up.

 WARDEN/GUARDS AT THE PENITENTIARY

While in prison they obviously have guards and the warden, Michael shows them
respect because they are pretty much completely in control and do what they have to
do to keep order.
Most of the inmates including Michael call the guards boss.
Michael especially plays the innocent card with the guards and the warden because
he has to seem completely innocent while planning his escape.
Michael even helps the warden in his office so he makes it seem normal referring
him to sir and his professional name Warden Pope but with everyone else he is laid
back and his inmate friends know of his devious plan.
