Correct radio voice procedure
Making a call

Control to Echo Charlie one over


To contact another person start with your call sign followed by to
then the call sign of the person you wish to contact
End with OVER. Over means you are finished speaking and waiting for a reply

Control this is Echo Charlie One - over


EC1 should acknowledge control is calling
Then follow with their call sign EC1
End with over to await a reply or request from control.

Thing to note
Do not use names over the radio
Do not call out personal details or phone numbers
Do not use profanity over the radio
Do not transmit while eating or chewing gum

Commands
Over Finished talking and waiting on a reply
Out Finished talking and not waiting for a reply
Break Break to interrupt a transmission for emergency or urgent call

Other code words can be established locally to identify things such as bomb
threats, missing children, etc... This should be agreed before issuing radios and all
radio operators should be aware of the code words.

then control will issue a request
End with OVER.

EC1 should acknowledge control is calling
Then follow with their call sign EC1
EC1 should confirm the request once again
End with OUT. Out means the conversation is over and you are not waiting on a reply.

north road, reg number 00-d-1293

Control to contact Echo Charlie 4 to close off north road outside the
school

Echo Charlie 23 to contact control for a medical incident. 22 year
