Students will be split into groups and given a scenario of being stranded in either a desert or forest, where they must decide the 10 most important items to bring for survival. They will consider how the environment might impact needed resources and if items can have alternative uses. After choosing items, groups will discuss how their choices compared based on the scenario, common themes in all groups or scenarios, basic human survival needs, and how the environment can affect survival needs.
