WHO SHE WAS

Amelia Earhart was an American pilot, who was given many


awards for her excellence in flying as a woman.
In 1932, Earhart became the first woman (and second person
after Charles Lindbergh) to fly solo across the Atlantic Ocean.
When trying to accomplish her goal of flying around the world she
disappeared somewhere over the Pacific in 1937 she was soon after
declared lost at sea, her plane has still never been found.
EARLY LIFE

Amelia Mary Earhart was born in Atchison, Kansas on July 24,


1897.
Early in life she started being changing the role of a female, she
played basketball, took an auto repair class, and even briefly attended
college.
Earhart passed her flight test in December 1921 giving her the
pilot license she would use for the rest of her life.
DISAPPEARANCE

On June 1, 1937, Amelia Earhart took off from Oakland,


California, on an eastbound flight around the world. This would have
been the first ever flight around the world.

The last time Earhart was ever seen alive was July 2nd departing
Lae in route to Howland Island to refuel.
