Smart View
Smart View provides a common Microsoft Interface(Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook) for
Essbase, Financial Management, Planning, the Reporting and Analysis repository(Hyperion
Financial Reporting) and OBIEE.
Smart View enables you to
perform the following tasks:
Use Excel to query data and
create reports.
Import existing Reporting and
Analysis content into Excel,
Word and PowerPoint.
Expose Essbase content in
Word and PowerPoint.
Smart View: Basic Mechanics of Creating Reports
Creating Ad Hoc Reports:
Adhoc grids are used to analyze data from a data source. An Adhoc report is a query to the
Essbase server based on the dimensions and members currently displayed in the worksheet.
Smart View Options :
Zoom In : Drills down from a selected member.
Zoom Out: Collapses one level from a selected member.
Pivot: Changes the row-column orientation.
Smart View Options :
Keep Only: Retains only selected members.
Remove Only: Removes only selected members.
Undo: Reverses the last operation.
Redo: Reverses the last undo operation.
