12 Therefore, as Gods chosen people, holy
and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with
compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness
and patience. 13 Bear with each other and
forgive one another if any of you has a
grievance against someone. Forgive as the
Lord forgave you. 14 And over all these
virtues put on love, which binds them all
together in perfect unity.

Colossians 3: 12-14
23 I have the right to do
anything, you saybut not
everything is beneficial. I
have the right to do anything
but not everything is
constructive. 24 No one should
seek their own good, but the
good of others.

1 Corinthians 10: 23-24

Ecclesiastes 4: 9-12

9 Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their
labor: 10 If either of them falls down, one can help the other up. But
pity anyone who falls and has no one to help them up. 11 Also, if two
lie down together, they will keep warm. But how can one keep warm alone?
12 Though one may be overpowered, two can defend themselves. A cord of
three strands is not quickly broken.
Ephesians 4: 25-28

25 Therefore each of you must put off falsehood and speak truthfully to your neighbor, for we
are all members of one body. 26 In your anger do not sin: Do not let the sun go down while you
are still angry, 27 and do not give the devil a foothold. 28 Anyone who has been stealing must
steal no longer, but must work, doing something useful with their own hands, that they may have
something to share with those in need.
Ephesians 4: 29-32

29 Do not let any

unwholesome talk come out
of your mouths, but only
what is helpful for
building others up
according to their needs,
that it may benefit those
who listen. 30 And do not
grieve the Holy Spirit of
God,with whom you were
sealed for the day of
redemption. 31 Get rid of
all bitterness, rage and
anger, brawling and
slander, along with every
form of malice. 32 Be kind
and compassionate to one
another, forgiving each
other, just as in Christ
God forgave you.
Job 2: 11-13

11 When Jobs three friends, Eliphaz the

Temanite, Bildad the Shuhite and Zophar the
Naamathite, heard about all the troubles
that had come upon him, they set out from
their homes and met together by agreement
to go and sympathize with him and comfort
him. 12 When they saw him from a distance,
they could hardly recognize him; they began
to weep aloud, and they tore their robes
and sprinkled dust on their heads. 13 Then
they sat on the ground with him for seven
days and seven nights. No one said a word
to him, because they saw how great his
suffering was.
Job 6: 19-21

19 The caravans of Tema look for water, the

traveling merchants of Sheba look in hope. 20 They
are distressed, because they had been confident;
they arrive there, only to be disappointed. 21 Now
you too have proved to be of no help; you see
something dreadful and are afraid.
Job 29: 4-6

4 Oh, for the days when I was in my

prime, when Gods intimate friendship
blessed my house, 5 when the Almighty
was still with me and my children were
around me, 6 when my path was drenched
with cream and the rock poured out for
me streams of olive oil.
1 John 4: 7-12

7 Dear friends, let us love one

another, for love comes from God.
Everyone who loves has been born of God
and knows God. 8 Whoever does not love
does not know God, because God is love.
9 This is how God showed his love among
us: He sent his one and only Son into
the world that we might live through
him. 10 This is love: not that we loved
God, but that he loved us and sent his
Son as an atoning sacrifice for our
sins.11 Dear friends, since God so
loved us, we also ought to love one
another.12 No one has ever seen God;
but if we love one another, God lives
in us and his love is made complete in
us.
1 John 4: 13-21

13 This is how we know that we live in him and he in us: He has given us of his Spirit. 14 And
we have seen and testify that the Father has sent his Son to be the Savior of the world. 15 If
anyone acknowledges that Jesus is the Son of God, God lives in them and they in God. 16 And so
we know and rely on the love God has for us. God is love. Whoever lives in love lives in God,
and God in them. 17 This is how love is made complete among us so that we will have confidence
on the day of judgment: In this world we are like Jesus. 18 There is no fear in love. But
perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not
made perfect in love. 19 We love because he first loved us. 20 Whoever claims to love God yet
hates a brother or sister is a liar. For whoever does not love their brother and sister, whom
they have seen, cannot love God, whom they have not seen. 21 And he has given us this command:
Anyone who loves God must also love their brother and sister.
John 13: 34-35

34 A new command I give you: Love one

another. As I have loved you, so you must
love one another. 35 By this everyone will
know that you are my disciples, if you love
one another.
John 15: 12-15

12 My command is this: Love each other as I have loved you. 13 Greater love has no
one than this: to lay down ones life for ones friends. 14 You are my friends if
you do what I command. 15 I no longer call you servants, because a servant does not
know his masters business. Instead, I have called you friends, for everything that
I learned from my Father I have made known to you.
Luke 6: 27-31

27 But to you who are listening I say:

Love your enemies, do good to those who
hate you, 28 bless those who curse you,
pray for those who mistreat you. 29 If
someone slaps you on one cheek, turn to
them the other also. If someone takes
your coat, do not withhold your shirt
from them. 30 Give to everyone who asks
you, and if anyone takes what belongs to
you, do not demand it back. 31 Do to
others as you would have them do to you.
Luke 6: 32-36

32 If you love those who love you, what credit is that to

you? Even sinners love those who love them. 33 And if you
do good to those who are good to you, what credit is that
to you? Even sinners do that. 34 And if you lend to those
from whom you expect repayment, what credit is that to you?
Even sinners lend to sinners, expecting to be repaid in
full.35 But love your enemies, do good to them, and lend to
them without expecting to get anything back. Then your
reward will be great, and you will be children of the Most
High, because he is kind to the ungrateful and wicked. 36
Be merciful, just as your Father is merciful.
1 Peter 4: 8-11

8 Above all, love each other deeply, because love covers over a
multitude of sins. 9 Offer hospitality to one another without
grumbling. 10 Each of you should use whatever gift you have received
to serve others, as faithful stewards of Gods grace in its various
forms. 11 If anyone speaks, they should do so as one who speaks the
very words of God. If anyone serves, they should do so with the
strength God provides, so that in all things God may be praised
through Jesus Christ. To him be the glory and the power for ever and
ever. Amen.
Proverbs 12: 26

26 The righteous
choose their friends
carefully, but the way
of the wicked leads
them astray.
Proverbs 13: 20

20 Walk with the wise

and become wise, for a
companion of fools
suffers harm.
28 A perverse person stirs up
conflict, and a gossip separates close
friends.

Proverbs 16: 28
Proverbs 17: 9

9 Whoever would foster love covers

over an offense, but whoever repeats
the matter separates close friends.
Proverbs 18: 24

24 One who has unreliable

friends soon comes to ruin, but
there is a friend who sticks
closer than a brother.
Proverbs 22: 24-25

24 Do not make friends with a hot-

tempered person, do not associate
with one easily angered, 25 or you
may learn their ways and get
yourself ensnared.
Proverbs 27: 5-6

5 Better is open rebuke than hidden love. 6 Wounds from

a friend can be trusted, but an enemy multiplies kisses.
Proverbs 27: 9

9 Perfume and incense bring joy to the

heart, and the pleasantness of a friend
springs from their heartfelt advice.
Psalm 1: 13

1 Blessed is the one who does not walk in step with the wicked or stand in the
way that sinners take or sit in the company of mockers, 2 but whose delight is
in the law of the Lord, and who meditates on his law day and night. 3 That
person is like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in
season and whose leaf does not witherwhatever they do prospers.
Psalm 133: 1-3

1 How good and pleasant it is when Gods people live together in unity! 2 It is like
precious oil poured on the head, running down on the beard, running down on Aarons
beard, down on the collar of his robe. 3 It is as if the dew of Hermon were falling on
Mount Zion. For there the Lord bestows his blessing, even life forevermore.
Romans 12: 3-7

3 For by the grace given me I say to every one of you: Do not think of yourself more highly
than you ought, but rather think of yourself with sober judgment, in accordance with the
faith God has distributed to each of you. 4 For just as each of us has one body with many
members, and these members do not all have the same function, 5 so in Christ we, though
many, form one body, and each member belongs to all the others. 6 We have different gifts,
according to the grace given to each of us. If your gift is prophesying, then prophesy in
accordance with your faith; 7 if it is serving, then serve; if it is teaching, then teach;
Romans 12: 9-16

9 Love must be sincere. Hate what is evil; cling to what is good. 10 Be devoted to one
another in love. Honor one another above yourselves.11 Never be lacking in zeal, but keep
your spiritual fervor, serving the Lord. 12 Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction,
faithful in prayer. 13 Share with the Lords people who are in need. Practice hospitality.

14 Bless those who persecute you; bless

and do not curse. 15 Rejoice with those
who rejoice; mourn with those who mourn.
16 Live in harmony with one another. Do
not be proud, but be willing to associate
with people of low position. Do not be
conceited.
Romans 12: 17-21

17 Do not repay anyone evil for evil. Be

careful to do what is right in the eyes of
everyone. 18 If it is possible, as far as it
depends on you, live at peace with everyone.
19 Do not take revenge, my dear friends, but
leave room for Gods wrath, for it is written:
It is mine to avenge; I will repay, says the
Lord. 20 On the contrary:

If your enemy is hungry, feed him; if he

is thirsty, give him something to drink.
In doing this, you will heap burning
coals on his head.

21 Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome

evil with good.
16 But Ruth replied, Dont
urge me to leave you or to
turn back from you. Where
you go I will go, and where Ruth 1: 16-17
you stay I will stay. Your
people will be my people
and your God my God. 17
Where you die I will die,
and there I will be buried.
May the Lord deal with me,
be it ever so severely,if
even death separates you
and me.
1 Samuel 18: 1-3

18 After David had finished talking with Saul, Jonathan became one in spirit with
David, and he loved him as himself. 2 From that day Saul kept David with him and
did not let him return home to his family. 3 And Jonathan made a covenant with
David because he loved him as himself.
