JETTY
A jetty is a structure that projects from
the land out into water.
It facilitates unloading and forwarding of
fuel and other utilities transported by
marine liners to an inland power plant.
FEASIBILITY REPORT STAGE
Understanding the project requirements
Assessment of preliminary survey data
Bathymetric survey
Topographic survey of land area
Marine and land geo-technical investigation
Wave, tide and current data
Evolving a conceptual design
Finalizing the Port layout
Evaluating suitable design and construction
methodology.
DETAILED PROJECT REPORT STAGE
Review of the existing reports prepared
by other agencies on the project.
Review of various Surveys and
Investigation Reports prepared by other
agencies.
Carry out additional surveys, if any.
Carry out preliminary vessel size analysis
and traffic analysis. [Contd]
DETAILED PROJECT REPORT STAGE
Conduct Mathematical Model Studies for
Wave tranquillity to finalize the layout.
Shore line evaluation.
Assess facility requirements and coal handling
equipment, conveyor system and their design
capabilities along with project mechanical
engineer. [Contd]
DETAILED PROJECT REPORT STAGE
Depending on the location, environmental features and other
requirements prepare various possible alternate layouts for
the location of coal jetty.
Preliminary engineering design for pipe conveyor system,
shore unloader, jetty and approach, operation and
maintenance along with project mechanical engineer.
Preliminary engineering design of electrical/instrumentation
and control facilities along with project electrical /
instrumentation engineer.
[Contd]
DETAILED PROJECT REPORT STAGE
Study environmental aspects through review of
existing reports and prepare emergency evacuation
plan along with safety engineer.
Prepare cost estimate and project implementation
schedule.
Prepare and Submit Draft/Final Detailed Project
Report.
