• Talk to departments on what problems to solve (data analytics
related)
• Outcomes expected
• Issue tenders, procurement
Current State
• Ad-hoc rudimentary data analytics in different business units
• No enterprise-wide initiative or program for data analytics
Challenges
• Unclear value of data & information assets
• Lack of funding
• Lack of appropriate and skilled resources
• Lack of understanding the data & information problems and issues
(data quality, Master Data management etc.)
• Lack of skills (business and technical) required for data & information
analytics
• Ad-hoc or poorly managed data analytics in departments
Why?
• Many organizations neglect their data, keep everything forever, and
find ad-hoc solutions when it comes to information management,
governance, and risk.

• To change this situation, CxOs and other information management

(IM) leaders must work to change people's attitude to data and
information, and its relevance to business outcomes.
Recommendations
• Assign responsibility for data & information management to an
appropriate cross-departmental group/team

• Develop and implement a data & information analytics framework
