Katalyst Mission
• Economic emancipation in women from
marginalized sections of society, through the
medium of professional / higher education, and
specific interventions.

• Target starting salary – Rs 40,000 pm

• Increasing the management bandwith of corporate


India, through the talent pool thus created, thereby
giving India Inc access to hereto untapped talent
base.

Selection Criteria

• Talented girl students with superior academic track


record, with a family income of less than Rs. 60,000
per annum in the rural area or Rs. 1,50,000 per
annum in urban areas.

• Only students from professional degrees in


Engineering, Architecture, Law , Medicine, Business
and Chartered Accountancy are being considered
at this stage.

Selection Process

• Girl students are identified and interviewed by


programme coordinators with the help of College
Principals, and NGO partners. In some cases
word of mouth references by friends, volunteers,
mentors & Katalysts are considered.

• All the relevant certificates, marks cards,


photographs, address proofs, income proofs
(like salary slips of parents /earning family
members) are collected for short listing.

• Once shortlisted, 360 degree due diligence survey


is carried out to confirm the actual need and
monetary status of the family.

• Home visits is by an empanelled 3rd party


professional agency. Reports are submitted to us
along with reference checks.

• Confirmation to students of their selection as


Katalysts.

• Signing of MoU by Katalysts.

How you can help…
• Funding Support for Program expenses: We are
continually scaling up and as of now have 50
students at our Bangalore Centre and 55 at
Maharashtra. For the coming academic year we will
take the number to 75 in each centre. Katalyst
seeks to secure large donations from funding
agencies/corporate/individual donors, to ensure
growth and long term sustainability.

• Sponsoring a student : Partly or Fully. As a rule we


support a student studying in a professional course
with Rs 50,000 per annum.

computer that runs engineering applications

• Sponsor Tuition fees, Boarding and Lodging,
