Artificial Intelligent

WHAT IS ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENT (AI)?

The Imitation Game
In 1950s, the British mathematician Alan
Turing proposed a test to determine if a
machine can be defined as “conscious”.
To this purpose , he developed the
”imitation game”, according to which a
judge (C) interact with a machine (A) and
a human (B) through a terminal and try
to differentiate one from the other.

Formalization of Artificial Intelligent
The term “artificial intelligent”
was coined in 1956 by
American computer scientist
John McCarthy (1927 – 2011).
According to him, artificial
intelligent is “The science and
engineering of making
intelligent machines, especially
intelligent computer programs”.

What is the difference?

WITHOUT AI WITH AI
• A machine can “execute”: • A machine can “think”:
• It answers a specific question. • It answers a generic question.
• It responses exactly the same in • It responses in the context of the
all situation. situation.
It is coming…
• It is in your smartphone,
laptop, PC.
• It is in your satellite navigation
system and instant translation
application.
• These are some examples of
AI, which is already in our
everyday life.
