Cohen, LeoNora M. “Section III – Philosophical Perspectives in Education.” PHILOSOPHICAL PERSPECTIVES IN EDUCATION, oregonstate.edu/instruct.ed416/PP3.html. SUMMARY After completing the philosophic survey, it was very eye-opening to understand which direction I lead to more. According to the survey, my strongest philosophy was reconstructionism and my weakest was essentialism and behaviorism. I believe the survey was efficient and successful because after researching reconstructionism, I completely agree with its particular aspects of the philosophy. Some influences/experiences that helped shape my current philosophy was the way I was raised and my current job as an before/after school child care provider. My future students will have the ability to be open and feel comfortable in my classroom during their learning experiences as a student in the classroom and in the real-world. I believe my philosophy does align with the direction CCSD take toward instruction because they educate their students both inside and outside of the classroom to better their chances in succeeding. Overall, I am very confident and proud that my strongest philosophy is reconstructionism due to its great aspects and freedom it allows for our students!
