About Case
 This case is about the Rampur police station which need to
be repaired but did not receive any grants.
 Cyclone hits the nearby area
 DSP grants the order to inspector that to destroy the building
a bit and ask disaster management team to repair it on urgent
basis.
Ethical Issue
 Satnam is in state of indecisiveness
 Procrastination is being occurred due to delay in work.
 Issue was right that police station should be repaired but the
way chosen was unethical.
Ethical Dimension
Satnam being junior cannot disobey the order of DSP yet
cannot follow them as they were not ethical.
He is caught between duty towards his superior and the
moral and ethical values he has.
Ethical Consequences
 If Satnam listens to his boss, deceiving someone is forbidden
under any circumstances.
 Satnam’s has to take decision either rationally or irrationally.
If he think rationally he will think about the possible outcome
and the value of the outcome.
 By obeying the DSP, he is being dishonest. His action should
be justifiable.
Values Invovled
 Sense of duty towards his superior.
 Integrity.
 Honesty.
Notion of moral law as categorical
imperatives
 His decision should be an unconditional moral obligation.
 He cannot decide whether conduct is "right," or moral,
through empirical means.
 He should act in such a way that he can treat humanity.
 If he were through his maxim always a legislating member in
the universal kingdom of ends.
 he will always have a fear of truth getting revealed
