We Always expect that:

 Load can fall.
- Minimize lifting crew (only
authorized and competent
crew doing lifting job).
- Establish exclusion zone
(barricade swing radius of
cranes).
- Use lanyards to position
or guide load.
- Respect wind speed.
- Always follow
Banksman’s instruction.
- Avoid: “drop zone”.
 Equipment can move.
- Don’t walk or stand
between crane and fixed
structures.
- Don’t walk under crane
boom or load.
- Avoid swing radius
(respect the barricade).
- Use Flagman when
moving crane.
- Avoid: “no-go zone”.
 Stored energy can be released.
- Size load to crane capacity.
- Look up and live: overhead
electrical power lines.
- Don’t touch rigging or load
during lifts.
- Avoid pinch-points when
placing loads.
- Ensure load is stable before
removing rigging equipment.
- Avoid: “line of fire zone”.

Always involve the right people in decisions that affect procedures and equipment.
