DEFINITION
The Written Curriculum is the published curriculum that is part of the formal education.
It is mostly made by curriculum experts with the participation of the teachers. It
includes course objectives, course guides, lesson plans, course material and grading
criteria.
MAIN CHARACTERISTICS

It transcends the subject areas in order to explore the issues that are relevant,
significant, engaging and challenging to students

It reflects the essential elements

It develops international-mindedness

It is based on each student’s needs, interests and competencies


ESSENTIAL ELEMENTS

Concepts (What do we want students to understand?)

Knowledge (What do we want students to know?)

Skills (What do we want students to be able to do?)

Attitudes (How do we want students to feel?)

Action (How do we want students to act as a result of their learning?)
