 INTRODUCTION
Centre for Development of Imaging
Technology(C-DIT) is an organisation established in
1988 by the Government of Kerala for advancement
of research , development and training in imaging
technology communication . Shri.P Govinda Pillai
was the founder director of the centre. The 3
regional centres of C-DIT are functioning in
Kayamkulam , Eranakulam , Kannur. C-DIT is a unique
institution with diverse skill sets and achievements
in the areas of information and communication
technologies and their applications.

 C-DIT
C-DIT has four groups , each specialising in a
core area , viz . Communication group ,
Technology group , Education & Training group
and Operations group.
C-DIT functions as a total solutions provider to
the departments and agencies under the
government of kerala in the areas of ICT
applications and in supply of holography based
security products.
 ACHIEVEMENTS
C-DIT has been hosting and maintaining the
Kerala government web portal-kerala.gov.in
Sutharyakeralam
Mass contact programme of the chief minister in
each district was brought live to the public.
The live web streaming of Karnataka CM’s office
was successfully taken up.
E-grantz software ,a web based application
developed by C-DIT for SC/ST department got the
national award for e-governance.
The high security hologram labels produced by C-
DIT have helped the State Excise Department to keep
a check on the counterfeiting of liquor bottles.

 Supplying security holograms to the universities

in the state for affixing on the degree certificates
issued by them to prove their authenticity .

C-DIT had undertaken the printing and delivery of

the computerized rations cards for the consumers
in the state at record speed.

project ‘jalakam’ , to help
the people , especially the
youth in matters of
exchanging knowledge and
extending IT based
services.
 •Live Streaming Of Karnataka
CM’S Office
In order to ensure
transparency and credibility in
the state administration of
Karnataka , the then chief
minister Shri .D.V.Sadananda
Gowda entrusted C-DIT to
implement live streaming of the
working of his office at the
Vidhana Soudha and camp office
at house.
 •Green signal for professional
skills academy in kochi
A professional skills
academy is taking shape at
the kochi regional centre of
C-DIT . Advanced training in
information technology will
be conducted through the
academy.
 •Total communication support to
skill development project
C-DIT is getting ready to provide
total communication support for
hassle-free implementation of
government of Kerala’s ‘State Skill
Development Project-SSDP’ a
comprehensive programme for
developing skills so as to improve
the employability of a wide strata
of our society : registrants in
Employment Exchanges , working
employees lacking skills , students
without skill orientation , etc.
 •Port department to be IT-
enabled
C-DIT has
automated all the
activities of the Port
Department through
a web enabled
information system.
•Web Governance Facility for Circle Offices
of Forest and Wildlife Department
C-DIT could facilitate a
Continuous flow of information from
all the circle officers of Forest department ,
which is relevant to the public/stakeholders.
This become possible with the creation of
separate websites for all circle offices in the
official website of Forest and Wildlife
Department by C-DIT.
 •Study centre management system
for malayalam mission
Under the project to educate the new
generation about their native languages and
culture , Malayalam learning centres have been set
up in collaboration with Malayali associations in
other states and
abroad.
