BIOMES
A biome is a large
region of Earth that is
classified by its climate
and the plants and
animals that inhabit it.
Aquatic Biome
Any part of the Earth that is covered in water is an Aquatic Biome. This
biome can be broken down into freshwater and saltwater regions.
Forest Biome
A forest biome includes a wide variety of plants, trees, animals, insects,
and small organisms. There are 3 types of forests: tropical, temperate, and
boreal.
Desert Biome
A desert biome is distinguished by its very small amount of vegetation or
plants. There are 4 Major Types of Desert: Hot and Dry, Semiarid, Coastal,
and Cold.
Tundra Biome
Tundra biomes are the coldest places on Earth. They are similar to a
cold desert except they receive less rain and contain different
animals and plants.
Grasslands Biome
The grassland biome is made of rolling hills of various grasses. There
are two types of grassland: savannas and temperate.
