Principle

 Production of electricity by using the concept of

electromagnetic induction.
 Electromagnetic induction (or sometimes just induction)
is a process where a conductor placed in a changing
magnetic field (or a conductor moving through a
stationary magnetic field) causes the production of a
voltage across the conductor.
AIM

 Produce the electricity by using the

electromagnetic induction with the help of
stirling engine
PROCEDURE

 This process includes heating the stirling engine container

 The the container is heated by concentrating the sunlight

with the help of Fresnel lens .

 The air expands and contracts rapidly due to heating and

loosing the temperature to surroundings
Continued..
 This expansion and contraction of air causes the piston to
move. To the piston we attach a magnet and surround the
piston with copper coil.

 Here the mechanical energy is converted into electrical

energy by help of magnetic induction.

 The stirling engine can rotate at a speed of 2700rpm. So

magnet moves so quickly such that there is no gap in
production of electricity.
DIAGRAMATIC REPRESENTATION
Operation of Stirling Engine

 In a Stirling engine, hot air expands when heated and contracts when
cooled. This principle of operation was most properly understood by
Irish scientist Robert Boyle from his results on experiments on air
trapped in a J shaped glass tube.
 In a Stirling engine the fluid is contained in a confined space, hence
there are no problems of contamination. In order to reduce the heat
losses, the mass flow rate must be low which can be maintained by
low viscosity fluid or high working pressures.

ADVANTAGES
SWOT ANALYSIS

 Strengths:- Low cost, No need to refuel, No pollution,

safe to use.
 Weakness:- Small quanitity of power can only be
produced
 Opportunity:- Small scale energy production
 Threats :-Requires sunlight to work
