Introduction
■ The main aim of the project is to design a smart trolley which is capable of
automatically identify and Calculating the amount of products inserted into the
trolley and also have the payment option at the trolley using RFID Technology.

■ The trolley in shopping mall calculates the total amount for goods which we select
and finally have option to pay money at the trolley using RFID smart card.

■ The super market as a whole can be improved by utilising the information gained
through this system, adopt strategies ( effective product placement, etc.) to improve
sales and margin.
The existing system
■ One of the time spending parts of an
ordinary life is counted to be in shopping.
The average time that is spent in the store,
is a little more than 40 minutes.

■ The observed reasons include :

– Inefficient work-force management
– Indecisiveness of the customer
– Lacking task automation
– Poor infrastructure
The proposed system
■ One of the most possible solutions to this
problem is to use a smart cart, based on
RFID system in cooperation with Arduino
processing.
■ This cart allows customers to recognize
prices of products and count the total price
of obtained goods
■ The customer is equipped with a smart-card
that enables cashless transactions.
Advantages
■ Increased level of automation.
■ Re-usability. The RFID tags can be re-programmed almost instantaneously.
■ Multiple items can be read simultaneously.
■ Longevity. Data retention is guaranteed for at least 10 years.
■ Enhanced Customer experience with improved QoS (Quality of Service)
Prerequisites
Hardware Software
■ Arduino controller ■ Front end: HTML, CSS, JavaScript
■ RFID tags ■ Language:Java
■ RFID reader ■ Backend: AWS (cloud computing)
■ LCD ■ C (embedded) for the H/W modules
■ RPS ■ Arduino IDE
■ IOT module ■ Eclipse IDE
■ LED Indicators
■ Buzzer
