SARVODAYA BAL VIDYALAYA, SADIQ NAGAR

• TOOLS : SEMI-STRUCTURED INTERVIEW WITH STUDENTS

1) THROUGH THE ANALYSED DATA, I FOUND THAT FOLLOWING FACTS
ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR GENDER CONSTRUCTION IN MALE –
• SCHOOL
- SEPARATING SEXES AND RESTRICTING INTERPERSONAL
RELATIONSHIP
• FAMILY
- DISTRIBUTION OF WORK
- DIFFERENT BEHAVIORAL DEMANDS
• MEDIA
- ROLE OF MEDIA IN INFLUENCING THE CHOICE OF ROLE MODELS
- ROLE OF MEDIA IN STRENGTHENING EXISTING STEREOTYPES

2) COMING TO PERSPECTIVE OF STUDENTS REGARDING GENDER


ROLES , I FOUND THAT STUDENTS HAD VERY LIMITED AND CONFINED
PERSPECTIVE TOWARDS THE ROLES ASSIGNED TO EACH GENDER
IRRESPECT OF THE WAY THEY WALK, TALK, DRESS UP, GAMES PLAYED
BY THEM ETC.
