•Quarter Wave Monopole


•The Monopole antenna consists of one half of a λ/2
antenna located on a perfect conducting ground
plane.

•The monople antenna is perpendicular top the


plane, which is usually assumed to be infinite and
perfectly conducting.

•It is fed by a coaxial cable connected to its base.


• Using Image Theory, we can replace the
infinite perfectly conducting ground plane
with the image of monople
• The field produced in the region above the
ground plane due to the quarter wave
monopole with its image is same as the field
due to half wave dipole.
• The E and H components are same for half
wave dipole and quarter wave monople.
• The power radiated is over the surface above
the ground plane is
