History of cardinal signs

 Cardinal signs began on march 1st, 1970 at the location of 940

Princess Ave of Brandon Manitoba. 3 ½ years of the location of
October 1st 1974. as they expanded their manufacturer with the
gerber sign maker around 1979. they were the firs ship in western
Canada to move in to the computerized sign manufacturing. Their
were many growing pains over the years. They soon outgrew that
location and November 1, 1986 they purchased the present
location which is 10,000 square feet of building on 3 ½ acres of land.

Week 2 placement

 Monday I got a tour of cardinal signs by one of the workers tony who I was with for
the 2 weeks I was there for. If he was busy I would be with another worker learning
their job.

 Tuesday helping tony with bending the metal for preparation of the signs and putting
in the ribbons and using the metal shear cutter for the big pieces of metal

 Wednesday helping tony with bending more metal and cutting more metal for
making the metal signs

 Thursday through out the 2 weeks been helping tony with making the signs so they
would be ready for delivery

 Friday I was able to put leds for lights inside the three metal signs
My work experience

 Through out the weeks I was their for tony led me through the proper
steps and the proper use of every machine we used for the signs
that we were building. The proper conditions and approaches that
helped me was that everyone helped me so I wouldn’t get lost on
what I was doing

Work experience

 To me it was very different then school. You went to a place that I

used some big machines like the metal shear cutter and the
machine that bended metal and I got to learn about the attaching
adhesive lettering to the pieces of metal. An I’ve been watching a
lot of tony working on the signs and helping him as well.
 My strengths and weaknesses
my strengths were lifting and carrying a lot of metal from one place
to another and my weaknesses were applying the adhesive lettering to
the pieces of metal and I kindve messed up applying one of the metal
More work experience

 The knowledge and skills that I learned was how to do something

right like getting the proper usage on the metal shear cutting and
attaching the ribbons to the metal signs. And getting using the
proper usage of attaching the adhesive lettering to thee pieces of
metal.
 Would I be suited for this kind of work
I think I would be suited for this kind of work because its what I like to
do and I got a lot of help on what was needed to do at cardinal Signs
with the work that I have doing.
