with in the cells.
 Cancer is arises from the mutation of normal healthy
gene.

* PRIMARY PREVENTION
Primary prevention of cancer by health education regarding hazards of tobacco
consumption and necessity of genital hygiene for pervention of cervical cancer.

* SECONDARY PERVENTION
Early detection and diagnosis of cancer by screening method and patient
education on self examination method.
EX – Cervical cancer , breast cancer and oropharyngeal cancer.

* STRENGTHENING OF EXISTING CANCER TREATMENT

* PALLIATIVE CARE IN TERMINAL STAGE CANCER .

 This scheme is meant for IEC (information,
education, communication) and early detection of
cancer.
 Under this scheme financial support of RS 5.00
lakh is provided to registered voluntary
organisation.
 For early detection
 For health education
 It link with regional cancer centre , medical
college and district hospitals.
 It was launched in 1990 - 91
 A large number of cancer cases can be prevented with
suitable health education or early detection.
 Under this scheme one time financial support of RS-15.00
Lakh is provided to state government for start this
program.
 RS- 10.00 Lakh every year is provided to every district for
four year.
 It linked with the:-
* Regional cancer centre
* Medical college
* Government hospitals
 Government of india has given RS- 75 Lakh to every
regional cancer centre.
 There are 19 regional cancer centre are in india, and
recognised by government of india.
 For treatment of cancer
 For strengthening the cancer care service.
 For early detection or prevention.
 Indra Ghandhi Institute Of Medical Science (IGIMS,
PATNA) is the only one regional cancer centre in bihar.
