Mathilde was dissatisfied with her
life as the wife of a clerk.
One day, the Loisels were invited
to a ball.Mathilde was unhappy
because she had no gown or
jewellery.Loisel let her buy a new
gown and she borrowed a
diamond necklace from Madame
Forestier
On the grand party, Mathilde was
the most pretty. She enjoyed the
ball.After the ball, she found that
the necklace was missing.
Loisels hunted everywhere but
could not find it. The Loisels
borrowed money to buy another
neklace that looked like the lost
necklace and gave it to Madame
Forestier.
After that the Loisels lived in
poverty and worked hard to pay off
their debt. It took ten years. The
hard life changed Mathilde’s looks
and character.
One day, Mathilde met Madame
Forestier and told her friend the
truth about the necklace.Mathilde
learnt that the necklace she had
borrowed was actually a fake.
