    The Wheatstone bridge circuit allows for the measurement of an unknown resistance (Rx) by balancing two arms of the bridge so that no current flows through the galvanometer (ig=0). When balanced, the ratio of the known resistances (R1, R2, R3) equals the ratio of the unknown resistance (Rx) to the known resistances.
