Introduction
 Sari-sari Store are small neighborhood retail
shops started and run by women micro-
entrepreneurs from their respective homes. Quiet
often these micro-entrepreneurs mothers or
nanays – who engage in this microbusiness in
order to augment their family’s income. Indeed,
that sari-sari store stands for many things: an
extended pantry supplying the community’s daily
needs, a massive distribution channel and a lot
more.
Statement of the Problem
Why some Sari-sari stores face problems?
What factors that affects sari-sari store?
How they compete with their competitors?
Why it is required to be more effective?
What practices can aid the insufficient
performance of the business?
Purpose of the Study
The purpose of the study is to make a
review about what makes a sari-sari
store exists and why sari-sari store is
prevalent now and then. This aims the
problems pointed to give effective
resolutions directly and a concrete
background about the store.
Significance of the Study
 Proprietor- this study will help and give
information to the sari-sari store proprietors
about how will they treat their customers.
 Customer- as to this study, this gives knowledge
to the customers to be aware about the quality
of products.
 Barangay- It helps the development of the
business and community to provide goods and
services to be rendered by the business.
Theoretical Perspective
This theory can help sari-sari
stores to thrive in the locale by
making massive channel
distributions of goods and
services to customers to create
more effective and competitive
background.
Research Method
 The research used experimental
method of the quantitative
research because it needs to
study to identify specifically the
variables to control, careful
measurement, and to establish
cause-and-effect of the study.

Summary
The study entitled “The Status of Sari-sari Stores” in Purok 3- Avocado
Bingkilan San Vicente, Butuan City to examine and determine the context
of the business within the locale.
The design used in the study was the descriptive design of the
quantitative research which is very helpful for the researcher to gather the
data. The samples of the study are the business proprietors to whom the
researcher collected the data to draw recommendations and conclusions in
the study. The research instrument used in the study was the interview
questionnaire and observation method in which the researcher made during
the actual process of the study. In the process of the study the researcher
personally asked permission to the Barangay Captain together with the
printed letter permission given to the Barangay Captain to be signed up.
The data gathered in the study was presented and interpreted by the
researcher through tabulation, analysis, and implications.
Findings
 1. The data shows that 5 out of 6 Sari-sari Stores have the same
products sold in their store.
 2. All of the proprietors said that managing a business like Sari-sari
Store you have to keep it more attractive to the customers.
 3. Most of the proprietors agreed that building a good relationship
to the customer can help you help your business.
 4. In competitions, making the price lower or affordable can make
you one step ahead of your competitors.
 5. Majority of the answers content stated that having strong
purposes and reasons in business helps you invest more for the
family.
Conclusions
 1. The products that most of the Sari-sari Stores sell are
almost the same.
 2. Most of the proprietors agreed that keeping the store
in a good condition attracts more customers.
 3. All of the proprietors answered that improving you
store required to build good relationship to the
customer.
 4. Most of the proprietors agreed that making the price
lower helps a proprietor more in competitions.
 5. All of the proprietors said that having strong purposes
and reasons in business will lead a proprietor to use it as
strength.
Recommendations
 1. The proprietors should reproduce the most common
products sold to gain more profits.
 2. The proprietors should maintain the quality of the
products and the cleanliness of the locale so that they
can attract more customers.
 3. The proprietors should treat theirs customers equally
and keep a good relationship among customers.
 4. The proprietors should make a more competitive ways
to beat their competitors in the locale.
 5. The proprietors should always remember that their
strength in business are their purposes and reasons.
