Requirements in Estimating Bill of Materials

Suggestion on how to go about doing estimating:


1. Clear the table or work area
2. Have on hand all the things required:
a. Building Plans
b. Specification
c. Scale
d. Calculator
e. Pencil, ballpens, eraser, etc.
f. Data about bldg. materials (prices)
g. Worksheets
h. Construction contract, if necessary

3. Study carefully all the plans and specification.

4. In case of discrepancies between the two, refer to engineer for clarification

5. Scaled distance and measurement indicated discrepancies, it is usually the


latter that prevail
CONSTRUCTION SPECIFICATION AND WORKING DRAWINGS

 Floor framing Plan/s, Det. of Beams,  Interior Design and other
Girders, and RC slab/s notable bldg. features
 Roof Framing Plan, Det. of Rafters and/or
Trusses
 Plumbing Plan, Diagram and Details of
Septic Vault, Catch Basins, etc.
 Electric Plans, Diagram and Load
Computations, etc.
 Mechanical Plan, where so required
