Cnidos – Stinging nettle

• Also called coelenterate


• Made up of 9,000 living species
• Cnidarians include the corals, hydras,
jellyfish, sea anemones, sea pens, sea
whips, and sea fans.
• Armed with stinging cells called
nematocysts.

HYDROZOA, the most diverse group with


siphonophores, hydroids, fire corals, and many medusae.

SCYPHOZOA, the true jellyfish.
