The Effect of Age, Gender, Polyp Size and Location on the Presence

of Dysplasia in Patients who Underwent Colonoscopy with


Polypectomy
• What is the effect or association of age, gender, polyp size and
location to the presence of dysplasia among patients who
underwent colonoscopy with polypectomy?
General Objective
• To determine the potential effect of patients’ age, gender,
polyp size and location on the presence of dysplasia using our
local population

Specific objective
To determine and compare the histopathological differences
of polyps found in patients and compare them based on
gender and location
Methodology
• Study design: Retrospective descriptive
• Study population:
– All patients who underwent colonoscopy with polypectomy done
between January 2016 to December 2018 will be included in this
study
– Exclusion criteria are as follows: those with family history of
hereditary polyposis syndromes, history of colon cancer, colonic
resection, inflammatory bowel disease, and those with incomplete
data and whose pathological reports are not found

corresponding histopath reports of patients who underwent
colonoscopy with polypectomy
