• Anglo Nubian- a dual purpose goat that can produce 2 liters
of milk daily. It also can reach an adult weight of 65 kilos
maturity.
• La mancha – they are noted for their lack of ears and
are docile breeds. They are good milk producers and
produces 2 liters daily.
• French Alpine – also a dairy type breed that can
produce 3liters of milk daily. They can reach at
52kilos maturity weight.
• Native goat (Dalan Breed) – produces 250 ml of milk daily.
Reaches 20-25kilos in maturity.

• Saanen – A dairy type breed. It has a pure white to cream white


color with erect ears. This animal can produce 3-4 liters of milk
daily. Reaches 45kilos in maturity.
• Boer – Is a large, double muscled goat
developed in africa specifically for meat, they
can consistently produce more muscling in less
time than any other breeds of goat. They can
reach 80-95 kls adult weight.
• Goat raising can be a promising business,
But you cannot starve a profit out of any
animal. An animal that is not properly fed
will not grow as fast, reproduce as well,
stay as healthy or reach its genetic
potential.
They can readily digest large quantities of roughage
everyday
Goats can chew 20 gallons of cud daily
• They are browser and foragers
• They will find nutrition in places that cattle cannot.
• They have the ability to produce their own vitamins
and minerals.
• Goats have the ability to regurgitate
• Provide them different kinds of forage everyday.
• A goat consumes 4-6 kls of roughage daily.

FEEDING GOATS = the goal of


feeding goats is not to fatten them, but
rather to provide enough nutrients for
maintenance & growth. Adequate
space for exercise plus abundant
quality grasses/legumes are important.
• Goats like to have a set of routine. That is
why you should try to feed them at the
same time of day.
• Goats are intelligent and creative.
• Try to feed them enough roughage that
they will have something left over to
munch on between meals, so their rumens
stay active and healthy.

example medical history, breeding records,
registration and date.
