Sound,is made by VIBRATION.
Example:
->When you strum a guitar string
->When you speak your vocal chords vibrates
->When you hit something using a tuning fork
->When an electric current flows to the electromagnet of
an speaker it turns into a permanent magnet that
attracts and repels to it and vibrate back and forth
Where does Sound Travel the Fastest?

• Sound Waves travel fastest through

solid matter,why?Because,the
,molecules of are more compressed
than the other two matter.
• Therefore it travels slowest at gas
next liquid last solid
Supersonic and Hearing Sounds

• Supersonic travel is a rate of

travel of an object that exceeds
the speed of sound
• Hearing Sounds are sounds that
you hear exactly from the word
• Molecules at higher temperature vibrates
faster therefore the higher temperature the
faster the sound travels.
• Air pressure and Humidity is also the same but
at some gases it doesn’t work so it depends
on the temperature
Transverse and Longitudinal Waves
Perpendicular Waves
Wavelenght Amplitude Crest

Wavelenght Trough

Longitudinal
Waves
Wavelength

Reflection and Refraction of Sound
• Refraction of sound is when the sound passes
through a medium a great example is water.

• Reflection usually occurs on Hard, reflective,

nonporous interior building surfaces such as
glass, wood, plaster, brick and concrete absorb
and reflect 2% to 5% of the sounds striking
the surface to reflect95% or more of
the sound.
8===>Therefore<===8
• Sounds are Longitudinal Waves.Sound waves
can be refracted and reflected,Sound is
produced by Vibration.It is directly
proportional to Temperature,Humidity and
Air Pressure.

Funfact:Longitudinal waves are usually made by

nature or produced without medium,while
Transverse waves uses medium.
