to launch own eCommerce store before
Diwali

• Chinese handset maker Oppo is aiming to increase the


share of revenue coming from the online channel in
India with the help of online exclusive handsets and its
own e-commerce site.

• To drive growth in the online space, the company laid


out a framework with an equal focus on its online
distribution channel through their partnerships with
brands like Flipkart, Amazon, Paytm, Snapdeal and
TataCliq

India to distribute its private labels online

• Lifestyle International, has partnered with Flipkart to sell


nearly a dozen of its private labels on online
marketplaces.

Sharp ties up with Chennai's Eltech to

• Japanese Electronics manufacturer Sharp Corporation has


signed a distribution agreement with Chennai-based
Eltech Appliances to cater to the Indian market

• Sharp is going for green selling by pitching "air-

Tata Motors to send stocks directly to
dealers, to close distribution company
TDCL
• To keep production close to the retail demand Tata Motors
will now sell stock directly to its dealers, for which it will
shut down an 11-year-old distribution subsidiary
• TML Distribution Company (TDCL), which is a 100-percent
subsidiary of Tata Motors that manages about 6,600 touch
points of passenger and commercial vehicle sales and
service across India, will close operations soon.
• TDCL provides distribution and logistics support for the
distribution of Tata Motors products throughout India.
TDCL has set up stocking points at some of Tata Motors’
plants and at different places throughout India.

Fintech lenders go omni-channel for healthy
book
• Fintech startups are exploring new lines of businesses
through corporate tie-ups, kiosks, physical branches and
cluster models.
• "We are getting around one-third of our new customers
from our offline channels," said Akshay Mehrotra, CEO,
EarlySalary.
• Disbursing loans online is a customer acquisition plan but
difficult part is in getting the money back

• The move is driven to replicate the success of traditional
NBFCs, who created strong loan books through a branch-

Pakistan body asks govt to allow
distribution of Indian goods already
reached at ports

• Pakistan suspended its trade relations with India in


retaliation against New Delhi's decision to revoke Article
370 that gave special status to Jammu and Kashmir.
• The EFP also feared that life-saving drugs, which are
imported from India as raw material or in finished form,
may vanish from the market and requested to relax the
rules until some alternative source for the import is
arranged, the report said.
• India's exports to Pakistan stood at $2.06 billion in 2018-19.
